Introducing Chartside

Medical dictation that lands as clean, accurate text in any EHR.

Charter Members · $29/mo, locked while subscribed · first 100 seats · opens December 1Charter: $29/mo · first 100 seats · Dec 1

Example: “Umm, so sixty-two-year-old male, uh, acute on chronic systolic heart failure…” becomes “62-year-old male with acute on chronic systolic heart failure. Diuresed overnight, net negative 1.6 L. Continue furosemide 40 mg IV BID.”

How it works

Hold a key. Speak. It lands.

No EHR integration. Chartside is a floating layer over your screen — the EHR only ever sees keystrokes.

01

Hold Shift or tap Option

Hold Shift for a sentence, or tap Option to go hands-free for a whole plan. Works in the EHR, email, texts — any app.

02

Say it like you’d say it

Medical vocabulary built in — drug names, doses, units. Your phrasing stays yours; filler goes.

Polished text lands at your cursor

You approve every word before it lands. Nothing types while you’re still speaking.

1. Acute on chronic systolic heart failure — continue IV diuresis today. Transition to torsemide 20 mg daily tomorrow if net negative.

On your screen

A floating layer over the chart.

Direct download for macOS — not the App Store. Nothing to install on hospital systems; the EHR only ever sees keystrokes.

Dot Phrases

Your SmartPhrases, everywhere.

Say “dot” and the phrase name — or type it — and it lands right where you said it while you keep talking.

Letter of Recommendation

It is a pleasure to recommend this resident for cardiology fellowship. Over three years on our inpatient service, they became the physician nurses ask for by name.

Re: Consult follow-up

Thanks — I can see the patient before discharge tomorrow morning.

The glass island

Nothing on your screen until you press the key.

Idle
⇧

Barely there. A still waveform and a hotkey — and only while you’re setting up. In daily use it’s invisible.

Listening
…torsemide 20 mg daily tomorrowhold ⇧ · tap ⌥

Hold ⇧ to talk, or tap ⌥ for hands-free. The waveform moves only while you speak; the live transcript shows the words as they’re heard.

Say “dot” and the name anywhere in a sentence. The phrase drops in right there — no confirm key — and the Dot Phrase Library box opens above the island. Keep talking.

The dictation catalog

Every dictation, scrubbed before it’s saved.

Most recent first, ready to copy back in. Identifiers are removed before anything is stored, and a word Chartside didn’t catch is marked — never guessed. No audio is ever kept.

Who built it
William W. Bridge, M.D.

About

William W. Bridge, M.D. — board-certified physician and medical director. I built Chartside on my own inpatient unit because the tools I was offered didn’t fit how clinicians actually work: dictation that stumbled on our drug names, phrases trapped inside one EHR, and no honest way to see whether a note reflected the work behind it.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an EHR integration?

No. Chartside never connects to your EHR. It’s a floating layer over your screen — the EHR only ever sees keystrokes.

Will it get my specialty’s drug names right?

Pick your specialty at setup and Chartside listens for its vocabulary. When it gets a word wrong, flag it once — your personal dictionary keeps the fix.

What happens to a word it doesn’t catch?

It’s marked [___] in your text rather than guessed, so your eye goes straight to the one spot to check. A silently wrong dose is worse than a flagged one.

Does Chartside code my notes for me?

No. Tracking is off until you turn it on. When it’s on, you choose the level and any add-ons for each note and Chartside keeps the tally — the time statement is a reminder you insert only if it’s true.

What’s saved for each encounter?

The date, a generic label (“Patient 1”), and the codes you ticked. No names, no MRN, no room numbers.

What about PHI?

No PHI is stored. Audio goes to our speech vendor under a BAA and is never kept, screenshots never leave your screen, and only de-identified text reaches the language model — under a BAA with zero retention. Nothing is stored on our servers.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime — and every membership comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Speak. It’s in the chart.
